Valley of Decision

Let me first say “God is so good!” Secondly, I hope and pray all is well with you and your family. I just wanted to take a quick moment and share some thoughts that the Lord has revealed to me in His word and I hope they bless you as they have really blessed me.
Lately, I have been drowning myself in studying the vital importance of evangelism. I came across this powerful scripture and I just could not get it off my heart and I wanted to share it with you. It comes from the book of Joel chapter 3. Here the Lord is speaking to Joel, He says:
13 Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. Come, go down; For the winepress is full, The vats overflow— For their wickedness is great.”
14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision! For the day of the Lord is near in the valley of decision.
In the book of Revelation chapter 14 verse 15, we see Jesus Himself using a sickle on the earth because once again the reference is made that the earth is RIPE and READY to be HARVESTED! I sense such an urgency when I read these scriptures and it causes such a stirring in my spirit to go and win the lost. Can’t you hear the Lord here saying; “Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe. COME, go down…I believe there is an intensity here to go and to reap a harvest of souls. This isn’t a suggestion or some off the wall idea. It’s not a “if you feel like it or if you have nothing better to do then maybe you can go.” No it’s life or death for so many. This is a command and it comes right from the lips of God! It was so important that it was the last thing that Jesus told His disciples to do.
In two months we are heading off to India to cast our sickles in the great harvest fields of souls. We pray that we will be able to make an eternal difference in there land. The sickle that we are armed with is the life-changing word of God. For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword…
You see everyday there are multitudes upon multitudes in the valley of decision and God is waiting on us to go and lead them home to Heaven. This is where I really need your help! I want to be honest with you and ask you to please pray for me and pray about helping our ministry reap a harvest of souls in India. We are conducting a Gospel Crusade in India the second week of January (Jan.13-16). This crusade will cost our ministry 34/K. I completely understand that due to where you are in life and where God has placed you, that you may not be able to physically go with us but through prayer and financial support you can help us get there. Every prayer and financial gift really makes a difference! Jesus said that where your treasure is there your heart is also and I believe that your heart is helping to rescue the lost.
Thank you so much for taking a moment to read this email. May God richly bless all that you do!
Together let’s win the world to Jesus!

Final Night of Crusade
What can I say I am truly humbled by all that the Lord has done in this crusade. Tonight I preached on healing. I told everyone that Jesus still heals today. I shared the story Jarius, the ruler of the synagogue. Since he was a ruler he had access to all the greatest prophets, pastors, evangelist, and teachers of the day, yet none of them could heal his precious little 12yr old daughter. Again, because of his position as a ruler, he had access to the best physicians, medicine and treatment of the day. Yet once again none of that mattered because his daughter was still severely sick. During his conversation with Jesus one of his servants came to deliver the dreadful news that no parent ever wants to hear, your daughter has died. Jesus looked at Jarius and said “do not fear only believe”. Upon walking into the house He sees everyone terrible anguish, weeping loud for this little girls life has been “seemingly” lost. Jesus has a completely different outlook on this situation. He says the little girl is not dead rather she is just sleeping. No one wanted to hear that of course they all knew the little girl was dead. But you have to love Jesus’s outlook on this whole situation. You see nothing dies when Jesus is around! He brings life into every situation! There is nothing that is to hard for Him. He can do what no man could dare dream of doing and He did.
Now we all know what happens next, Jesus goes into daughters room and raises her from the dead. Everyone is completely astonished! But once again Jesus brings life into every dead situation. You think your dreams have died, just give them to Jesus. You feel like your ministry has hit rock bottom just hand it over to Jesus. Your finances are in shambles, keep trusting Jesus. Your business, your marriage, your kids give it all to Jesus and watch Him resurrect every dead thing in your life!
This has been a tough week of ministry but God has been so faithful! Over the last four days we have seen over 23,000 people gathered to hear the Gospel preached. There have been over 13,000 people that have made a decision to follow Christ! We thank God for keeping our team safe as we proclaimed His great Gospel in the heart of the enemies territory.
It is my deepest desire to continue to doing Gospel Crusades in countries where people have never heard of Jesus. I long to keep reaching out to those who have been forgotten, those who are lonely, broken, hurting and desperate. We could never do this without the faithful prayers and financial support of those who believe in soul winning. Jesus said, “where your treasure is there your heart is”. I firmly believe our treasure should always be in winning souls. Together, let’s populate Heaven in Jesus name.

Let’s Run Together!

Everyday in my neighborhood I witness people running. Some run to simply stay in shape while others run for the sheer joy of the sport. But the thought crossed my mind that whether people enjoy it or not most will run for a cause they believe in. We have seen thousands of people run races in support of finding a cure for cancer, or running to find a cure for diabetes or to fight abuse, politics, obesity, etc…The bottom line is people run to support a cause or an idea or a vision they believe in. When they find that cause they give themselves to it!
As I was studying these scriptures I realized that we have the greatest cause in the world to run for. The Holy Spirit began to reveal to me how much of a similarity we share with them. These scriptures mirror our lives and ministry. Please take a minute and read:
2Chron.30:6-10
6Then the runners went throughout all Israel and Judah with the letters from the king (Hezekiah) and his leaders, and spoke according to the command of the king: “Children of Israel, return to the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel; then He will return to the remnant of you…9For if you return to the Lord, your brethren and your children will be treated with compassion by those who lead them captive, so that they may come back to this land; for the Lord your God is gracious and merciful, and will not turn His face from you if you return to Him.” 10So the runners passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun…
This is a fascinating story to me because of King Hezekiah’s desire to bring all the people back to the Lord! He had runners run throughout the entire land with letters personally written by him. He felt such an urgency to bring all the people back to the Lord that it couldn’t wait. So he sent the runners away in haste. The only instruction he gave them was to take these letters to the north and the south, to every city, town and village and tell all the people the king has asked everyone to return to the Lord.
As I thought about this story, the Holy Spirit really spoke to me and said “Bernie, your mission is no different”. I realized that we have letters from a far greater king than Hezekiah, we have 66 beautiful letters from the King of all Kings and the Lord of all Lords! Our letters do not come from an earthly king but a Heavenly King. A King who has no beginning nor ending. A King that was so in love with us that He refused to live with out us, so He came down from Heaven on a search and rescue mission. And through you and I, He is still searching and He is still rescuing the lost. Our great King has placed in our hands 66 letters filled with amazing promises of life, love, hope, salvation, redemption, deliverance, peace, truth etc…and He has instructed us to take them to the four corners of the earth and with Heavenly love in our hearts tell every nation, tribe and tongue to return to the Lord!
In less than a week we will head off to Pakistan for another Gospel Crusade. We head right back into the heart of lion’s den to snatch up a harvest of souls. Our desire is to bring Gods precious people right to the eternal cross of salvation. Through Gods grace we will bring thousands of people home to Heaven safely.
Please understand that Pakistan is still very much a dangerous place and so I kindly ask that you keep me in your prayers. Our crusade director has emailed me recently about some of these recent dangers. However I cannot publicly speak of them. I just ask for your continuous prayers as we go minister in the darkest part of the world! The Holy Spirit is with us!

God’s Heart Churns for You

I just wanted to take a moment to encourage you. As I was studying the word, I read this scripture and was intrigued by it so I began to study it in depth. It was very encouraging to me and my prayer is that it will speak to you and that the Holy Spirit will breathe His life into your mortal soul and ultimately that you too will be encouraged and richly blessed!
HOSEA 11:8-10
8 “How can I give you up, Ephraim?
How can I hand you over, Israel?
How can I make you like Admah?
How can I set you like Zeboiim?
My heart churns within Me;
My sympathy is stirred.
9 I will not execute the fierceness of My anger;
I will not again destroy Ephraim.
For I am God, and not man,
The Holy One in your midst;
And I will not come with terror.
10 “They shall walk after the Lord.
He will roar like a lion.
When He roars,
Then His sons shall come trembling from the west;
(New King James)
In the Message Translation (below) this verse reads like this:
8 But how can I give up on you, Ephraim?
How can I turn you loose, Israel?
How can I leave you to be ruined like Admah,
devastated like luckless Zeboim?
I can’t bear to even think such thoughts.
My insides churn in protest.
Quick background: the people of Israel continued to backslide. Hosea mentions earlier that the heart of the people was set on backsliding. Naturally, because they continued to turn their back on the Lord, under Old Testament law God had the right to destroy them! That’s why He says, “shall I make you like Admah or Zeboiim?” Another quick note: Admah and Zeboiim were the 2 cities that were destroyed along with Sodom and Gomorah (Duet 29:23).
According to the law, God had the right to rain down fire and brimstone on rebellious Israel. But in the depths of Gods heart is His unfathomable love for creation. He says, “how could I give you up? How could I turn you over?” God’s mercy is continually raining down from Heaven over the whole earth. Most of us never realize it. The good news is that if you are alive today that Heavenly mercy available for you. Instead of raining down fire and brimstone on the people God rained down mercy and grace. He says, “My heart churns within Me”. How awesome is that? God’s heart is churning for you!
Do you remember the feelings you had the first time you fell in love? The first time you held the hand of the person you were crazy about? Remember those Heavenly feelings of bliss? You swore that you would swim a vast ocean to get to them, or you would step in front of a freight train, or that you would take a bullet, you would take on the whole world for the person you loved. Love made you say crazy things but if it ever came down to it would you actually do them? Those were amazing feelings that no matter how hard you tried you just couldn’t explain them. Those feelings of love were simply unexplainable.
This is how the Lord feels about us. The bible says that His heart churns within Him for you! He loves you so much. Paul says in Romans 5:8 that God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Paul also tells Timothy (2Tim.2:13) that while we were “faithless” He is still “faithful”. When Jesus went to the cross it was His marriage proposal to all mankind. He willingly bent down, laid on a wooden cross, spread His arms wide open and in essence said to us all, “This is how much I love you!” My heart churns within Me for you; My sympathy is stirred for you!
When the disciples were in trouble, He walked on water to get to them, when the widow of Nain’s son had died and the funeral was in process, He interrupted the funeral, walked up to the coffin, touched it and out came her son! When Jarious’ daughter had died, He went to his house and raised her from the dead, when His good buddy Lazurus had died, He journeyed for 2 days back to the very city that had just tried to kill him and raised him from the dead and when the woman was caught in adultery He shielded her, stood in front of her accusers and said to them “Let the man with no sin cast the first stone”, they left and He forgave her. Time fails me to tell you about Jesus feeding the five thousand, reaching out to Zacchaeus, healing blind Bartimaeus and even while dying on the cross forgives the thief dying next to Him. The bottom line is the scriptures are filled with amazing stories of Gods endless and undeniable love for us.
I am not sure where you are today but I can promise you one thing, man may have given up on you but Jesus will never, ever give up on you! Jesus said it best, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. His heart “churns” within Him; His sympathy is stirred! He is so in love with you that He refuses to live with out you so He stands at the door of your heart and He knocks and He keeps knocking! Will you open up?
The “veil” was rent from head to toe from top to bottom and the door to Gods heart was opened to all humanity.
Be encouraged today. DREAM BIG DREAMS because God is with you and His heart is churning for you!

Peter, Jesus, and a Boat
September 10, 2010 by admin

It starts off as just another normal day in the life of Peter. At this point he was not a follow of Christ, he wasn’t one of the twelve disciples, he was just another ordinary man trying to do his best to provide a good living for his family. The story picks up in Luke 5:1 where a multitude had gathered sometime around midmorning somewhere on the shores of Galilee to listen to Jesus preach. At this point Jesus was beginning to gain quite a bit of notoriety among all the people especially since just a few verses prior to this He had healed everyone in the city (LK.4:40-41)! Wow! We also know that Peter knew of Jesus because Jesus had healed Peters mother in law (LK.4:38-39). So when such a large crowd gathered to hear Jesus, it became real obvious that Jesus needed a little more help with amplification. What does he do? There on the shore, He sees two boats not being used. The fisherman had left them to clean their nets and get them ready for another night of fishing. However, fishing back then, as well as cleaning nets and boats was no easy task. It was very demanding, very hard work. So it’s fair to assume that Peter was not only exhausted from a long night of fishing and cleaning his boat and his nets but I’m pretty sure he didn’t feel like lending his boat to anyone. But how could he turn away Jesus request? He sees the people hungry and eager to hear Jesus preach. Some were late for work, others decided not to go to work, kids stayed home from school, everyone both young and old, from all walks of life was just enamored with this Galilean preacher. Also, weighing on Peters conscious was the recent memory of Jesus healing his mother in law. So when Jesus needs a boat to use to speak to the crowd Peter figures the least he can do is turn over the keys to the real captain, the King of Kings!
Jesus climbs on the boat, speaks to the crowd (I’m sure it was an amazing message!) and then He gives Peter a command that would forever change his life. He says to Peter “launch out into the deep, and let down the nets for a catch.” I wonder what Peter was thinking at that very moment? Did he think, “ excuse me, you want me to let down these nets? Are you sure? These are the nets I just spent the last hour cleaning?” Did Peter think, “are you kidding me, right now is not the time to fish!” I know when to fish and right now-midmorning is definitely not the time to fish! Did he think to himself, “Jesus is a carpenter, He’s not a fisherman, He has no idea what He’s talking about.” We can only imagine what thoughts ran through his mind but we do know that Peter answered and said, “Master, we have been fishing all night and we have caught nothing; nevertheless at your word I will let down the net.”
I really love this, at “YOUR WORD”; the bible says “faith cometh by hearing and hearing the word of God.” When Peter launched out into the deep and when he let down his nets for a catch we see that Peter had a whole new problem on his hands. He almost lost his boat! (Quick note: Don’t ever try to hold on to the things Jesus is asking you to give Him, no matter how valuable you think they are, if you hold on to them eventually you will loose them anyway!) In just a moment of time, with one spoken word from Jesus, he had caught so many fish he began to panic, yelling to his partners and his friends to come out and help him. His boat, his treasure, his most prized possession was sinking. Wow what a moment! This is the same Peter who knew how to fish. This is the same guy who grew up fishing the waters of Galilee and a few minutes earlier was complaining to Jesus that he had fished all night and caught nothing.
Here’s the problem. A few hours earlier Peter was fishing by himself with the exception of a few hired hands but now the difference is Peter has Jesus, the creator, the King of Kings on his boat. As a result, his business as well as the business of his friends goes through the roof! Remember, obedience is better than sacrifice.
My question to you today: Is Jesus on your boat? I’m not asking you if you go to church or if you’re a Christian, I’m asking you is Jesus involved in all that you do, in every area of your life? Not just your Sunday morning but your “everyday”. Is He involved in everything you do? You see Peters fishing business was everything to him. It was the way he made a living and fed is family. But it wasn’t until Peter got out of the way and gave Jesus his boat that his life literally changed forever.
I want to encourage you today to stop whatever your doing and give Jesus your boat. Give Him your business, your marriage, your kids; give Him every area of your life. Relinquish control today and allow Him to be the captain of all you do! I promise you; you will never regret it!
If Jesus is on your boat, then launch out into the deep, dream big and watch Him do things with you that you didn’t think was possible!
May Gods’ blessings cover you today!

Waiting on the Lord

“Wait on the Lord.”
Psalm 27:14
It may seem an easy thing to wait, but it is one of the postures which a Christian soldier learns not without years of teaching. Marching and quick-marching are much easier to God’s warriors than standing still. There are hours of perplexity when the most willing spirit, anxiously desirous to serve the Lord, knows not what part to take. Then what shall it do? Vex itself by despair? Fly back in cowardice, turn to the right hand in fear, or rush forward in presumption? No, but simply wait. Wait in prayer, however. Call upon God, and spread the case before Him; tell Him your difficulty, and plead His promise of aid. In dilemmas between one duty and another, it is sweet to be humble as a child, and wait with simplicity of soul upon the Lord. It is sure to be well with us when we feel and know our own folly, and are heartily willing to be guided by the will of God. But wait in faith. Express your unstaggering confidence in Him; for unfaithful, untrusting waiting, is but an insult to the Lord. Believe that if He keep you tarrying even till midnight, yet He will come at the right time; the vision shall come and shall not tarry. Wait in quiet patience, not rebelling because you are under the affliction, but blessing your God for it. Never murmur against the second cause, as the children of Israel did against Moses; never wish you could go back to the world again, but accept the case as it is, and put it as it stands, simply and with your whole heart, without any self-will, into the hand of your covenant God, saying, “Now, Lord, not my will, but Thine be done. I know not what to do; I am brought to extremities, but I will wait until Thou shalt cleave the floods, or drive back my foes. I will wait, if Thou keep me many a day, for my heart is fixed upon Thee alone, O God, and my spirit waiteth for Thee in the full conviction that Thou wilt yet be my joy and my salvation, my refuge and my strong tower.”
Charles Spurgeon
